HOW IT WORKS

Chemical peel facials are an excellent way to reveal smoother, healthier skin. The process works by using powerful acids to gently exfoliate the top layer of skin and remove damaged cells. This helps create a more uniform texture across the treated area(s), while also promoting growth of new, healthy skin cells.

Keep in mind that the acid used will depend on the depth of treatment. One of our medical aestheticians or nurse injectors will carefully assess your skin type and choose an appropriate chemical solution that best suits your needs!

After the treatment, you may experience some redness and/or itchiness, but these are normal reactions that will soon subside.

Chemical peels can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, acne scarring, dark spots, sun damage, and more - all while giving your complexion a brighter, younger-looking glow.

chemical peels q&A

Chemical peels have become increasingly popular in recent years due to their effectiveness at removing dead skin cells and helping reduce acne scars and other blemishes. We’ve created this helpful guide breaking down some of the most frequently asked questions about chemical peels at one of our three locations so that you can make an informed decision about your treatment!

  • How long does a Chemical Peel last?

The results from a Chemical Peel can last up to several months or even longer depending on the severity of your skin condition and the type of peel you choose. Generally speaking, lighter peels such as Glycolic Acid Peels will need to be repeated more frequently than medium depth peels such as TCA (Trichloroacetic acid) Peels.

  • How often should I get a Chemical Peel facial?

Usually, light peels can be done every 4-6 weeks while medium depth peels may only need to be performed once or twice a year. However, this varies depending on your skin type and goals. It is best to talk to one of our professional medical aestheticians or nurse injectors about what’s best for you.

  • Is there any downtime after a Chemical Peel facial?

Yes, most chemical peels will require some downtime in order for your skin to heal properly. After lighter peels such as Glycolic Acid Peels you may experience some temporary redness and minor flaking for up to 2 weeks. After medium depth peels such as TCA Peels, you may experience redness, flaking and even crusting for up to 4 weeks. It is important to follow all post-treatment instructions from your aesthetic practitioner in order to minimise any downtime after a chemical peel near you.
